2009 Slate of New Members
Bowdoin welcomes nominations to the Alumni Council from staff, faculty, trustees, and alumni. The Council’s Nominations Committee reviews nominations and proposes a slate of eight people each year, representing seven decades or at-large positions. The 2009 slate of new members has been approved by the full Council and is presented to you below, with brief biographical sketches.
Jennifer Goldsmith Adams '90 is a Physician at Gouverneur Diagnostic and Treatment Center in NYC and is the Associated Program Director for the Primary Care Residency program at the NYU School of Medicine. She is the course Director for PLACE a first and second year medical school course at NYU, and is the Director of the Internal Medicine Summer Medical Student Fellowship. Jennifer is also serves as a consultant and teacher in the NYC Department of Health's adherence program and works with the Mayor’s office in adult education as an advisor and teacher in their medical student health literacy fellowship. Jennifer was an Asian studies major at Bowdoin. She lives in New York City with her husband, Benjamin C. Adams, their two children, Julia (10) , Eleanor (5) and their dog Cassie.

JB Dilsheimer '88 lives in Philadelphia where he is a trial lawyer who represents catastrophically injured persons. J.B. is a former President of the Bowdoin Club of Philadelphia and volunteers with BASIC. He lives with his dog Bo and loves surfing, yoga, biking, mountainbiking and photography in those rare moments of free time.
Josh Dorfman '97 is Director of Alliance Marketing at Novell Inc. in Waltham, MA. He was a Product Marketing Manager at EMC Corporation and has held
strategy consulting positions at Gemini Consulting and Sherbrooke Associates. Josh has been involved with Bowdoin since he graduated as both an Associate Class Agent and Class Agent. He also led Leadership Giving for both his 5th and 10th reunions, and has participated as a BASIC volunteer interviewer. Josh earned his MBA at Vanderbilt University and lives in Boston, MA.
Judy Fortin '83 is a Senior Vice President of NewsCertifed Exchange, an Atlanta-based media training company. She spent 19 years as an anchor and correspondent for the CNN network group. She previously worked as a reporter at WCVB in Boston and WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire. Judy is a BASIC volunteer in the Atlanta area and serves as Vice President of the Bowdoin Club of Atlanta. She is married with a 16 year old daughter and a 12 year old son.
Dan Hart '95 is President of Hart Development Associates, LLC a real estate development and consulting firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. He is past President and Director Emeritus of the Bowdoin Club of Boston, a Class Agent, member of the 10th and 15th year Reunion Planning Committee, committee member of Bowdoin Football Alumni and a member of BASIC. Dan lives in Boston with his wife Ria, class of 1998.
JP Hernandez '04 is a Management Associate at Bridgewater Associates, a Westport, Connecticut based hedge fund, where he manages a team of eight Analysts in the Client Service Reporting group. At Bowdoin, JP was a Government & Legal Studies major and made contributions outside the classroom in athletics (baseball and football), as a Writing Assistant in the Bowdoin Writing Project, and as a volunteer in several community organizations. JP has maintained his connection to Bowdoin as a member of BASIC, as a member of his Class of 2004 Reunion Gift Committee, and as a participant in the first Bowdoin alumni service trip to New Orleans in 2008. He lives in Norwalk, CT.
David Hunter '59 received his Masters degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor after graduating from Bowdoin. He is Owner and President of David Hunter Associates, Inc. which he founded in 1994 after serving other organizations in senior positions in hospital administration and professional management consulting. The firm specializes in motivating organizations, teams and individuals in achieving their true potential. David is active in the community and currently serves as Board Chair of a high school for at risk youth and in lay leadership at his local church. He is a member of the American Hospital Association, Forum for Healthcare Strategists, International Coach Federation, International Coaching Council and the International Association of Coaches. David and his wife, Deborah, have three children and two grandchildren and reside in Issaquah, WA, a suburb of Seattle.
