Greetings Alumni,
My name is Timothy Borchers, class of 1980, writing to tell you about a great musical opporunity in the Boston area, the Saengerfest Men’s Chorus. With members from Boston area communities, it is a wonderful opportunity for men of any age to sing together, following a rich tradition. We currently have 6 Bowdoin alum in the Chorus and look forward to adding to that number. Below is a notice of open auditions for the Chorus taking place in the month of Septmber, as well as a better description of our group. We welcome you to take a look at our website and look forward to seeing you at the auditions.
Best Regards,
Timothy Borchers

More
Boston Saengerfest Men's Chorus www.saengerfest.org, Michael Driscoll, director, sings a wide repertoire, including traditional men's chorus literature, classical, folk, spirituals, sacred and show tunes. In addition to giving 4-6 performances per year in the Northeast (Toronto in 2009, Maine, Vermont and New York's Carnegie Hall in 2008, Fenway Park in 2007), Saengerfest typically travels overseas every 2 to 4 years. October 2008 saw the chorus at London's Royal Albert Hall as part of a 1000 member Welsh male chorus festival.
Our membership is largely professionals, many of whom are active in other choruses, soloists, former glee clubbers and church choristers, age 40 to 80 (the new "60"), when men can still sing strong and true, as this group proves. Audition during any month, but especially during September.
